Alice Springs Town Council (ASTC) are delivering the ‘Regenerating the Alice Town Centre’ project, which aims to engage with the Alice Springs Community to develop Concept Designs for the Alice Springs Town Centre.
From 3- 5 October 2023, The Regenerating the Alice Town Centre Project Team held a series of community drop-in sessions and Co-workshops at several locations within the Town Centre.
Thank you to all who attended and contributed to these sessions, your feedback will help shape the development of the Concept Designs.
The project will have a particular focus on these areas:
The key objective of this project is ‘To Enhance the Alice Springs Town Centre’, which can only be done with a comprehensive understanding of the community’s core values, vision, its key uses, constraints, future growth opportunities and by maintaining community’s sense of pride in place.
The project further aims to review the whole Town Centre precinct with a focus on experience.
Urban designers Jensen PLUS, supported by a team of planning, business, engineering, and engagement professionals, have been engaged by the Alice Springs Town Council to engage with stakeholders to understand community needs, listen to visions and aspirations for the Alice Town Centre and explore ideas and opportunities.
Various engagement methods and tools will be used to inform the concept design development, with feedback loops in place and a final concept design planned to be presented to Council in late 2023.
Your input and involvement is important.
The project team wants to:
